Fall Pictures

Yesterday.  5:30 PM.  Eating Supper.  Gorgeous Day. Mid 70's.  No Wind.  Leaves starting to turn.  Knowing it will be cool today.  And Windy.  Windy=Leaves blowing off.  Leaves blowing off=blah looking trees.  Panic.  We have family pictures the end of the month, but the weather is too perfect.  Light bulb goes off.  You can do just the boys today.  Hurry!  Eat supper.  Pick out their outfits.  Line it up.  Clean off the boys.  Give Hunter his clothes to get dressed.  Race Brody down to his room to change the diaper and get new clothes on.  Wipe Brody's face.  Unfortunately he has a nasty cold with a runny nose.  Face clean.  Boys dressed.  Grab the camera.  Get boys in car.  Drive.  But where?  Train tracks.  Take pictures.  Chase boys.  Watch for trains.  No trains in sight.  Not enough fall color.  Hop in car.  Pit stop at home.  Grab washcloth.  Wipe grease off Brody's hands from train tracks.  Drive.  Go to Spruce Hill.  Go to the tunnel.  Did ok, but lighting was getting away from us.  Drive to a spot with more light.  See Deer.  Take more pictures.  Play in the leaves.  Run around.  Enjoy the gorgeous evening as the sun is beginning to set.  And here are the results of my impromptu photo shoot.  Enjoy!

Pictures are my passion.  I carry my camera with me everywhere I go.  I know sometimes the boys get annoyed with me wanting to take their pictures, but I hope one day they are able to cherish their pictures.  I know one thing is for sure, I will never have to hear them complain that there are no pictures of them.

A New Look

I liked the way my blog looked before, but I didn't love it.  So tonight I took a little time to make it look a little more like me and a little more exciting.  Hope you enjoy it!

Beautiful Baby Shower

Sunday, I was able to attend a gorgeous baby shower for Craig's cousin's wife, Tiffany (did you follow that).  It was a beautiful fall day and a good thing since the shower was outside.  Craig's cousin, Jen, is amazing and hosted this gorgeous shower.  It was too beautiful not to share some pictures with you.  Jen, you are so gifted with your party planning skills and decorating abilities!  We are so excited for Baby B to come this December and really hope the doctor was right about it being a girl.  If not, there will be a little boy with more pink things than he could ever imagine.
A welcome table that held party favors.
The shower was held in this cute little tent.
Jen made corsages for all of us to wear and to take home as a party favor.
 The corsage for Tiffany.
An amazing spread.
An excited Grandma, Mama and Auntie-to be!
The amazing parents of Baby B.  Can't wait to meet you!!

Pajama Jeans?!?!

It's 12:30 and I finally convinced Hunter that he needs to get out of his pajamas.  I have had his clothes laid out on his bed since this morning but he has refused to take them off.  "But, Mom.  They're just so comfy."  That is what I have been hearing all day.  I told him I didn't realize that it was a pajama day.  Apparently I missed the memo.  He then told me, "Mom, my pajama pants feel just like pajama jeans.  They're so comfy."  Hahaha!!  I asked him how he knew about pajama jeans and he said, "I've seen them on TV.  They look like real jeans and they look really comfy."  I think my son now thinks we need to invest in a pair of pajama jeans.

Travel Sense

Hunter-"Mom, is the Great Wall of China real?"
Me-"Yes it is."
Hunter-"Why haven't I seen it then?  Are you sure it's real?"
Me-"Yes, it's real.  And it's really far away."
Hunter-"Well we can just get a hotel room when we go and see it."

Can you tell we have traveled a fair amount with this little guy?  He still doesn't understand that the Great Wall of China is really far away.

First Time for Everything.

Tonight the unexpected happened while I was giving Brody a bath.  He stood up, said "Uh-oh!", scrunched up his face and pooped in the tub.  That has never happened before with either of the boys!  Oh well, there's a first time for everything, right?  Luckily Hunter wasn't in the tub.  Phew!  But still gross...

Little Oinkers

Between the two boys today, they ate an entire box of mac and cheese at lunch.  It's always a hit, but apparently today it really hit the spot.  I wish I could eat like that and not have to worry.

I Spy

Today, my mom, the boys and I headed to St. Cloud for an afternoon of shopping.  After a successful trip and supper, we headed back home.  Hunter was exhausted and wanted to take a nap.  There was no way I was going to let that happen because he starts preschool tomorrow morning and if he took a nap, he wouldn't be tired enough for bed.  So, my mom came up with the idea that we played games in the car.  Perfect!

The first game was A-Z.  We found all of the letters and were done in about 7 minutes due to going through a large city.  That game lasts a lot longer on the Interstate through North Dakota.  After that, we switched to I Spy.  After taking multiple turns, it was my mom's turn again.  She said, "I spy something white and fluffy."  Obviously it was the clouds, but to our surprise Hunter shouted out "YOUR HAIR!!"  We couldn't help but laugh and my mom was not offended by any means.  Funny how kid's brains work sometimes.  Oh, and he eventually figured out that she was talking about the clouds.

"Ampa's House"

My dad lives only 5 minutes away or less from our house and it is amazing.  If I ever want to run errands on my own I can usually drop the boys off at his house and get things done a lot faster.  And the boys love it over there.  If we pass by without stopping, I usually hear about it.  Sometimes we even have to turn around just to say "Hi!".  Every time we drive by Brody is in the backseat yelling, "Ampa's! Ampa's!"
Today the boys were at my dad's while my sister and I went into town.  They had a blast running around, playing, getting treats from grandpa, so on and so forth.  And as always, they didn't want to leave.
Tonight I was giving the boys a bath and I was telling Brody that we get to go and see Hannah tomorrow to get his and Hunter's hair cut.  I pretended to snip at his hair and make it fun because he doesn't love getting his hair cut.  It's not is least favorite either and he is usually ok if we put a sucker in his mouth before we even begin.  I must say though, he is a lot better than his brother was at this age.  Anyways, I get done explaining our plans for tomorrow and his reply was, "I on't ant Annah.  I want Ampa.  Ampa's house."  Wait, it gets better.  He turns, looks at Hunter and says, "Hunter, you want  Ampa too?"  He must have thought 2 vs. 1 on not getting a haircut and going  to Grandpa's would change my mind.  The only thing I could do was laugh.
We shall see tomorrow if he is disappointed that we don't stop by Grandpa's on our way into town to cut the long over due hair off.  Thank goodness Hannah has a bowl full of suckers waiting for us.
