Little Oinkers
Between the two boys today, they ate an entire box of mac and cheese at lunch. It's always a hit, but apparently today it really hit the spot. I wish I could eat like that and not have to worry.

Fourth of July
Our fourth of July was filled with Patriotic food.
A parade filled with cute little boys who looked like colonial soldiers.
And time on the lake.
It was a very fun and relaxing 4th. Hopefully you were able to do something fun to celebrate our freedom in this wonderful country we live in!

Flaxmilk
To most of you this doesn't mean much, but to me, it is pretty cool. Flaxmilk comes directly from my aunt and uncle's farm and is now sold in Wal-Mart stores nationwide!! I think it is crazy that I can now go to Wal-Mart and buy milk made from their farm and the packaging has their names and even their small North Dakota town. Stober's, you have definitely put Goodrich, ND on the map!!
I am so proud of their accomplishments with their business, Flax USA. I remember when they first started out going from small shows and events and they had a little tent containing their product. And now they are in multiple stores nationwide-Wal-Mart and Costco just to name a couple and have even talked to people internationally.
There are two different types of Flaxmilk, original and vanilla. So far I have only tried the vanilla, but I love it! It kind of has a sweet taste to it. It is a great start to my morning and I know that it's good for me. And it is great for those who have allergies since it is Lactose & Dairy Free, Gluten Free and Soy Free.
So next time you're in Wal-Mart, look for it near the milk and give it a try!

What do Boy Scouts sell?
The other day, we were watching TV and a commercial came on about Girl Scout cookies. Hunter turned and looked at me and said, "Mom, if girl scouts sell cookies, do boy scouts sell milk?" How cute is that? I told him that they didn't and I'm pretty sure they sell Christmas wreaths. But, he is still convinced they sell milk to go along with the cookies.

Valentine's Day Food
Yesterday I wanted to do something special for the boys. Something that they would think was kind of fun. Something that would show them how much I really do love them. I'm pretty sure Brody didn't notice, but Hunter definitely did.

With each meal, I tried to incorporate hearts of some sort. Let's just say my heart cookie cutters were my friend yesterday. :)
For breakfast, we pulled out our heart waffle maker (a lovely wedding gift) and made homemade buttermilk waffles. Yum!
For lunch we used our cookie cutters and cut the bread into hearts to make heart-shaped grilled cheese. I enjoyed some tomato soup too :)
For supper, we made red heart jello-jigglers. The boys thought this was a lot of fun!
Auntie Melissa brought out Papa Murphy's pizza for supper, but we decided to put our own personal touch on it and cut Hunter's piece into a heart!
I had a lot of fun doing this year for the boys and think it will be something I will keep up in the year. Hope you had a Happy Valentine's Day filled with lots of love!

He likes my cooking!
Brody loves to eat! I feel like he eats every waking moment of the day. Ok, so I know that is not possible, but still. He is a machine. But, at least he likes my cooking :).

Extra Pickles, Please.
Well, as I stated in my previous post, Hunter and I were in town earlier today. Things took a lot longer than expected. By the time we were on our way home it was 1:30 and we still had no lunch in our stomachs. Oops! My dad was watching Brody so I didn't have to bring him out in the cold (Thanks Dad!) and I didn't set anything out for Brody for lunch. Double oops!
Quick, think fast! McDonald's was the easy answer. I figured I could order the food, eat mine on the way home, then while the boys were eating I would put away all the groceries. Ding, ding, ding! We had a winning idea!
So, I went through the drive-thru and ordered our lunch. I was craving a double-cheeseburger with extra-pickles. (I think McDonald's and Subway have the best pickles ever and usually order extra when I'm at either place.) We got our food and were off to our house. I quickly found my burger, unwrapped it and took my first bite. Wow! Talk about extra pickles! Just to prove it, I took a picture while at a stop-light. I tried counting, but the light turned green when I was at 15...and I still had more to count! Unbelieveable! Not going to lie though, my double cheeseburger with extra pickles was AMAZING! Ok, so maybe there were a few too many pickles, but I still enjoyed it.
The way my dad and I have it figured someone at McDonald's was like "I'll show her extra-pickles" or they grabbed in the pickle container and pulled a few too many out. Either way, I was a happy lady.
